UNESWA LIBRARY nearly burnt down over the festive season of 2018
On the first Monday at work in 2019, the 6th January, it was scary to smell burnt substance on entering the library door. A few steps inside told a horrifying story as black soot was found everywhere.
While we were on holiday, part of the second floor of the library was burnt!
It must have been a miracle to find that only one section of the floor, being the sink and ablutions wing was destroyed.
Nobody knows what and when the fire started. All that is evident is that there was fire starting from an exploded geyser at the sink room which emitted dark smoke into the whole building. Luckily no books were burnt and all other parts were safe.
However the smoke left most part dark.
We thank our God for the possibly serious accident that failed.
Everyone is now working on cleaning the dark soot on every shelf in the library and things are expected to be back to normal as soon as the whole place is repainted and replaced to its usual glory.
Such accidents!
